Washington: Amid the ongoing conflict, the stance of U.S. President Donald Trump has oscillated between diplomatic overtures and seemingly distracting maneuvers. At times, interpreting the true intent behind his statements has proven difficult. On Friday, he claimed that the U.S. war against Iran was nearing its conclusion. However, by Saturday night, he issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, warning of fresh and intensified U.S. airstrikes otherwise. The following day, he was seen playing golf at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. By Monday morning, as global stock markets grappled with a downturn, he stated that Iran was engaging in constructive dialogue with the United States.
