New Delhi: The West Bengal government, led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has raised objections in the Supreme Court over a petition filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with raids conducted at the Kolkata office of political consultancy firm I-PAC and the residence of its co-founder, Prateek Jain.
In its plea, the ED alleged that during the raid, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived at the location along with senior police officials and obstructed the proceedings, leading to the destruction of evidence. The petition further seeks the registration of an FIR against Mamata Banerjee and senior police officers for allegedly interfering with the raid and calls for a CBI investigation into the matter.
