Athens — According to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), football matches at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games will commence four days prior to the opening ceremony. As per the IOC, competitions in both the men’s and women’s categories will begin on July 10. These matches will be आयोजित across seven cities in the United States.
Group-stage and quarterfinal matches will be held in New York, Columbus, Nashville, and St. Louis, while the knockout-stage fixtures will take place in California cities including San Jose, San Diego, and Pasadena. These venues have been selected due to their world-class infrastructure, making them suitable for hosting major fixtures.
The football final will be played at the historic Rose Bowl Stadium, which previously hosted the finals of the 1994 FIFA Men’s World Cup, the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the 1984 Olympic Games.
According to the IOC’s revised schedule, teams will receive two additional rest days compared to previous Olympic tournaments, providing players with better recovery time. The final schedule for the football tournament is expected to be released by the end of this year.
