Jakarta: Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim-majority country, is moving forward with plans to purchase the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from India, and the deal has now been officially confirmed.

However, a media report published in January had claimed that Indonesia was also in discussions to acquire JF-17 fighter jets from Pakistan. The Indonesian government, however, has not issued any official response regarding the reports about the potential purchase of Pakistani aircraft.

In addition to these developments, Indonesia has already procured Rafale fighter jets from France, and deliveries of these aircraft have begun.
