Iran Claims the United States Is Not Willing to Discuss Nuclear Weapons

International

Tehran: The escalating military confrontation and rising nuclear tensions between Iran and the United States have sparked global concern. Amid this situation, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has made a significant claim, stating that Iran had proposed discussions on nuclear disarmament to the United States, but the American administration refused to engage on the matter.

According to Araghchi, during high-level talks held in Geneva on February 26, the Iranian delegation attempted to initiate dialogue on the issue of nuclear weapons. However, the U.S. side, led by Steve Witkoff, appeared to be moving toward military action rather than pursuing any meaningful diplomatic agreement.

It is noteworthy that the technical teams from both countries were scheduled to hold their next round of talks in Vienna on March 2. However, the outbreak of hostilities prior to the meeting has significantly diminished hopes for a peaceful resolution.
