Washington: Amid the intense military confrontation ongoing in the Middle East and the escalating offensive operations against Iran, the United States Air Force has suffered a significant setback. A KC-135 Stratotanker—an aerial refueling aircraft operated by the U.S. military—has crashed in the airspace over western Iraq.
The incident occurred while the aircraft was conducting mid-air refueling operations for other fighter jets. Confirming the event, U.S. Central Command stated that a large-scale search and rescue operation was launched immediately after the crash. Meanwhile, Iran is being viewed with suspicion in connection with the incident.
