Washington: The recent military strike carried out by the United States against Iran has significantly reshaped the established norms of global politics and military diplomacy. During the 1991 Gulf War, President George H. W. Bush led an unprecedented international coalition, while in 2003 his son, George W. Bush, managed to keep several allies on board despite widespread criticism. In contrast, the current U.S. President, Donald Trump, appears to have initiated this confrontation largely on his own, with limited support beyond Israel.
Trump’s approach seems to focus less on building broad alliances and more on exerting heavy pressure on partners while aggressively advancing his “America First” policy. This strategy has raised concerns that the United States may be moving toward a more unilateral stance in international conflicts, potentially leaving it increasingly isolated on the global stage.
