Ottawa: Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney will undertake an official visit to India, Australia, and Japan from February 26 to March 7, 2026. The first and most significant leg of the tour will be India, which Canada considers one of its key partners in the Indo-Pacific region. The Prime Minister’s Office released a statement confirming the visit.

According to the official release, Prime Minister Carney will first arrive in Mumbai and subsequently travel to New Delhi, where he is scheduled to meet with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The primary focus of the meeting will be to renew and strengthen Canada–India relations and expand bilateral trade cooperation.

The two leaders are expected to discuss potential new partnerships across several sectors, including trade, energy, technology, artificial intelligence (AI), talent mobility, cultural collaboration, and defense.
