In Newport, Switzerland’s legendary tennis star Roger Federer continues to captivate fans even after his retirement. The immense admiration for him was evident when all tickets for his induction ceremony into the Tennis Hall of Fame sold out within just a few minutes. In response to overwhelming demand, organizers released additional tickets for an outdoor celebration, but those too were snapped up almost instantly.

The Hall of Fame organizers later issued an apology to fans, explaining that the venue has limited capacity and no further tickets can be made available. In a statement shared on social media, the organizers noted that the size of the event location restricts the number of attendees they can accommodate. They added that they had anticipated significant enthusiasm surrounding Federer’s induction and had made every effort to maximize ticket availability.

Federer will be formally inducted into the Hall of Fame on August 29, alongside broadcaster Mary Carillo. In addition to the 900 tickets allocated for the main ceremony inside the hall, the venue will also open its 3,600-seat stadium for a special related event. Nevertheless, Hall spokesperson Megan Erbes confirmed that all 4,500 tickets were sold out within just two minutes, underscoring the enduring popularity of the Swiss tennis icon.
