Washington: Nikhil Gupta, an Indian national accused of involvement in an alleged conspiracy to assassinate Sikh separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu in the United States, has made startling claims before American authorities. According to recent reports, Gupta informed the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration that Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Khalistani militant who was killed in Canada, was also included on the list of intended targets. However, before the plan could be carried out, unidentified gunmen fatally shot Nijjar in British Columbia in June 2023. It is further being reported that Gupta has now admitted to certain charges brought against him.
