Dhaka: Relations between the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have reportedly become strained since Mustafizur Rahman was withdrawn from the Indian Premier League (IPL). Citing security concerns, the BCB had earlier declined to send its team to India for the T20 World Cup. However, recent developments suggest a possible shift in stance.
The BCB now appears keen to restore its ties with the BCCI to their previous cordial state. In this context, BCB President Aminul Islam is scheduled to meet BCCI officials on February 15 during the India–Pakistan match in Colombo.
Previously, the BCB also played a role in encouraging Pakistan to participate in the World Cup fixture. Bangladesh is believed to have benefited from that diplomatic engagement.
