Moscow: Fresh sensational disclosures have once again brought attention to the international reach and suspicious network of notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Newly released documents from the United States Department of Justice suggest that Epstein was actively attempting to establish direct access to Russia’s top leadership, particularly President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

According to these documents, Epstein maintained regular contact with Russia’s then Ambassador to the United Nations, Vitaly Churkin, during Churkin’s posting in New York. Following Churkin’s sudden death in 2017, Epstein reportedly sought to reach Foreign Minister Lavrov through a Norwegian politician. In a June 2018 email, Epstein claimed that Churkin understood him well and had also tried to gain insight into high-level American political discussions through Epstein’s connections.
