Kolkata: The political confrontation between the state government and the opposition has intensified in West Bengal over the SIR process. Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party have strongly reacted to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s opposition to this process. The BJP has alleged that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is attempting to obstruct a transparent electoral process in the state and is preparing to enter the electoral arena relying on a voter list riddled with inaccuracies.
