Woman Dies of Nipah Virus in Bangladesh, Confirms World Health Organization

Dhaka. The World Health Organization (WHO) officially confirmed on Friday that a woman has died due to the Nipah virus in Bangladesh. This tragic incident occurred in northern Bangladesh in late January and has once again raised global concerns about the severity of this deadly virus. According to available information, the deceased woman was between 40 and 50 years of age. She developed common symptoms such as fever and headache on January 21, but her condition rapidly deteriorated. She began experiencing excessive salivation, mental confusion, and seizures. Within just one week of the onset of symptoms, she passed away. Laboratory test results conducted the day after her death confirmed infection with the Nipah virus.
