New Delhi: Australia have announced their final 15-member squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to begin on 7 February in India and Sri Lanka. The team has suffered a major setback just ahead of the tournament, as star fast bowler Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the entire World Cup due to a back injury.
In another significant change, top-order batter Matthew Short has also been dropped from the squad. Left-arm fast bowler Ben Dwarshuis has been named as his replacement. Additionally, despite delivering an impressive performance in the Big Bash League, Steve Smith has failed to secure a place in the final squad.
