Istanbul: The European Cricket Association (ECA) has announced plans to launch the Euro T20 Club Champions Trophy in 2026, a prestigious tournament that will bring together national club champions from across the continent in a Twenty20 International (T20I) format. This initiative aims to enhance the competitive landscape of European cricket and elevate the sport’s profile across member nations.
The announcement came during the ECA’s annual meeting in Istanbul, where member countries were invited to submit hosting proposals by January 31, 2026. The final decision on the venue will be made in February. Reflecting global trends, the ECA is also exploring the viability of launching T10 tournaments to help member federations boost financial sustainability, with recommendations slated for presentation in 2026.
