Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to speak with US President Donald Trump about a controversial 28-point peace plan that was drafted in secret consultations between American and Russian envoys, sidelining both Kyiv and its European allies.

The proposal, which reportedly requires Ukraine to make significant territorial and military concessions, has been met with alarm in Kyiv and Brussels, casting a shadow over the future of Western support for the war-torn nation.The plan was formulated by US special envoy Steve Witkoff and his Russian counterpart, Kirill Dmitriev, without Ukraine’s initial involvement.
