Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flagged off the newly introduced Vande Bharat Express connecting Katra and Amritsar. This train will serve 6 days a week; its service will be closed only on Tuesday. With the start of this rail service, travel between Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab will also become more convenient. Now devotees will board the train to visit Maa Vaishno Devi in Katra. They can start their day in Jammu and Kashmir and offer prayers at the Golden Temple in Amritsar by the same evening. The Vande Bharat Express going from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Amritsar will depart at 6:40 am and reach Amritsar at 12:20 pm. In this way, this train will complete the journey in just 5 hours and 40 minutes.
There was a demand for a direct train for a long time
People had demanded a direct train to go from Amritsar to Katra for a long time. In the year 2016, only one AC train was started, but after some time it was stopped. It is said that the railway officers did not work properly in this, due to which it was stopped. There was a demand to start the Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat Express trains, which has now been fulfilled. This train will stop at four places on the way during the journey: Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar City, and Vyas. The Vande Bharat Express returning from Amritsar to Katra will leave at 4:25 pm and will reach Katra at 10:00 pm. On the way, this train will stop at stations like Vyas, Jalandhar City, Pathankot Cantt, and Jammu. Now talking about its ticket or fare, the fare of the AC chair car will be Rs 1170, and the ticket price for the executive AC chair car will be Rs 2085.
