Vaman Jayanti Importance
According to Hindu beliefs, Lord Vishnu took the Vaman avatar to protect the gods. In this avatar, he took the form of a small Brahmin boy. Lord Vaman, through his leela, asked for three steps of land as donation from King Bali. In his Vamana avatar, Lord Vishnu measured the entire earth with his first step and claimed the whole sky with his second. When there was no place left for the third step, King Bali humbly offered his head, and Vamana placed his foot upon it. Thus King Bali fulfilled his promise. This day is considered auspicious for destroying ego and achieving success in life by doing charity.
