India will be on the sports field for three days

In the year 2025, preparations have been made to celebrate National Sports Day as a three-day ‘Jan Andolan’ of sports and fitness. This celebration is being led by ‘Fit India Mission’. It will be organized as a sports and fitness movement from 29 August to 31 August. That is, India will be on the sports field for one hour for three days. According to the information, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had appealed last week to celebrate ‘National Sports Day 2025’ as a true mass movement. Government institutions, national sports federations and community organizations have appealed to the general public to join the celebrations. Along with them, famous athletes like Abhinav Bindra, Sunil Chhetri, Murali Sreeshankar, PV Sindhu, Manika Batra, Mirabai Chanu also urged people to participate in it.

Attempt to give a new shape to this day

The Fit India oath will be taken after paying tribute to Major Dhyanchand during the three-day ‘Jan Andolan’ program. On August 29, an hour-long sports event will take place after the ceremony. Then on the second day, there will be competitions in other sports like Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Sack Race, Tug of War across the country. On the third day, the celebrations will conclude with ‘Fit India Sunday on Cycle’. Let us tell you that ‘Fit India Sunday on Cycle’ is a nationwide campaign to promote cycling as an integral part of life.

Special things related to Major Dhyan Chand

Allahabad became the birthplace of hockey wizard Major Dhyan Chand on August 29, 1905. His father’s name was Sameshwar Dutt Singh and he was a soldier in the Indian Army. Sameshwar Dutt Singh loved playing hockey. Seeing his father, Major Dhyan Chand decided to join the army. Dhyan Chand joined the British Army in 1922 when he was only 16. It is said that at that time the army soldiers were more interested in hockey and football. But Dhyan Chand ji had no interest in playing hockey. He used to sit quietly and watch his fellow soldiers playing hockey. But once on the insistence of friends, Dhyan Chand came to the field to play hockey. From then on, Dhyan Chand practiced hockey consistently, and his love for the game kept increasing.
