In the national capital, Delhi, a tragic accident occurred on Sunday in the Dhaula Kuan area, where a high-speed BMW struck and killed Deputy Secretary of the Finance Ministry, Navjot Singh.
According to reports, the speeding BMW collided with Singh’s motorcycle, resulting in his immediate death at the scene. Police stated that the accident took place while Navjot Singh was riding with his wife on the bike. Following the crash, heavy traffic congestion built up on the road.
When the police arrived, they found the BMW overturned in the middle of the road and the motorcycle lying near the divider. Eyewitnesses claimed that the woman driving the BMW rammed into the bike. After the collision, she and her husband took a taxi and transported the injured to a nearby hospital. Shortly after, the police were informed by the hospital that one person had died in the accident.
The deceased biker was identified as Navjot Singh, Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. Meanwhile, Navjot Singh’s son, Navnoor Singh, alleged that his father’s life might have been saved if he had been taken to a nearby hospital instead of a distant one.
Doctors at the hospital declared Navjot Singh dead, while his wife was reported to be in critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment.
