This is a phishing scam, in which confidential information like your bank details, password, and OTP can be stolen. These scams are coming from a fake ID named donotreply@incometaxindiafilling.gov.in which is not linked to the official website of the department. Let us tell you that in these fake emails it is written that there has been some error in your tax calculation. Along with this, a link is sent on which you are asked to click. As soon as the user clicks on this link, your bank details, password, OTP and personal information fall into the hands of cyber thugs, and in this way you can get trapped in the trap of fraud. How to identify fake email or scam Link? According to the Income Tax Department, official emails are sent exclusively through the @incometax.gov.in domain. If you receive any email other than this, then understand that it is a scam. Use only the official website of the Income Tax Department www.incometax.gov.in to file tax, get information related to refund or make any update. Trusting any unknown or Google search website can be risky. Big action by Income Tax Department The Income Tax Department took the help of data analytics, artificial intelligence and third party sources to identify such fraudsters across the country. Initial investigation revealed that many taxpayers have claimed deductions for which they do not have any documentary evidence. Now the department has started raids and survey operations in many places of the country. According to reports, action has been taken at more than 150 locations so far.
