Bihar will observe a bandh on September 4 from 7 am to 12 noon, called by the NDA over remarks against PM Modi’s mother.

The NDA has announced a five-hour Bihar bandh on September 4 in response to an offensive remark made about PM Modi’s mother during the opposition’s Voter Rights Yatra in Darbhanga. The bandh is set for 7 a.m. to 12 noon, with essential services continuing without disruption. Emergency services such as rail, ambulance etc. will not be disrupted during the bandh… This protest will be led mainly by the BJP Mahila Morcha. Preparations have been started by the BJP to make the bandh successful, and people have been appealed to keep the bandh completely peaceful. NDA has not only attacked the opposition in Bihar politics but has also indicated the unity of NDA and its aggressive strategy on the issue of women’s respect.

JDU’s support

JDU leader Umesh Kushwaha criticized the derogatory remarks made about PM Modi’s mother, stating that the language used during the opposition’s rally in Darbhanga was inappropriate both ethically and politically. He further said that the use of such language is extremely inappropriate, but it is surprising that the leaders of the Mahagathbandhan have not even apologized till now. Even after several hours of openly abusing the Prime Minister from the stage, no statement has come from Rahul Gandhi. This clearly shows his arrogance. He has insulted our mothers and sisters and now we will answer it. That is why NDA has called for Bihar Bandh.”

PM Modi’s taunt on the opposition

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also spoken out publicly regarding this incident. Targeting the opposition leaders, he said that “some “naamdaar” people, who are born in comfort, cannot understand the hard work of a poor mother and the sufferings of her children. For them, power is like a family legacy. They will never understand the struggle of the poor.” It is believed that he was pointing towards Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav.

The matter took a serious turn

At the same time, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Home Minister Amit Shah also condemned this incident. Speaking at a rally in Guwahati, Amit Shah highlighted that 27 nations have honored Prime Minister Narendra Modi with their top civilian awards. A Prime Minister whom the whole world respects. Amit Shah targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, alleging that he promotes negativity, contempt, and hatred in Indian politics, citing the recent ‘Infiltrator Bachao Yatra’ as an example. Further, he warned the Congress and said – “The more you abuse the BJP, the more the lotus flower will bloom at a higher height. Let us tell you that after the indecent comment on PM Modi’s mother, Bihar Police arrested the alleged accused 20-year-old Riyaz and a case was registered against him under several sections of the IPC.
