PM Modi Congratulates Sushila Karki, Reaffirms India’s Commitment to Peace and Progress in Nepal

New Delhi. Following the formation of an interim government in neighboring Nepal and the appointment of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as Interim Prime Minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations.

In a social media post on Saturday morning, PM Modi wrote:
“Heartfelt congratulations to Sushila Karki Ji on assuming office as the Prime Minister of Nepal’s interim government. India remains fully committed to the peace, progress, and prosperity of our brothers and sisters in Nepal.”

Earlier, India’s Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement late Friday night, noting that as a close neighbor, India will continue to work with Nepal for the well-being and prosperity of its people. The ministry added, “We welcome the formation of the new interim government in Nepal under the leadership of Sushila Karki and hope it will contribute to fostering peace and stability.”
