New Delhi. The central government said that the proposed Delhi-Dehradun Expressway would reduce travel time between the two cities by 4 hours and speed up economic development in the entire region. Vehicles will be able to run at minimum speed of 100 km per hour on this road. The expressway will also have a 12-kilometer elevated road so that no traffic can be disrupted due to animals, as it has the largest wildlife corridor in Asia.
The central government says that due to this road, the road distance between Delhi and Uttarakhand will be reduced by 25 kilometers. The name of Delhi-Saharanpur Economic Corridor is going on and this will reduce the distance between the two from 210 km to 235 km. This will also reduce the time between the two cities from 6.5 hours to 2.5 hours. This will be the first such highway in the country, where there will be a 12 km long elevated corridor so that wildlife can be protected.
Talking about the entire express way between Delhi and Dehradun, there will be a total elevated road of 25 km. It will have 6 kilometers of open and 14 kilometers inside the tunnel. This 6 lane highway will be from the old wildlife area.
The government says that the process of land acquisition and environmental clearance is in the final stages. According to the proposal, facilities will be provided to passengers every 25-30 kilometers of the expressway, so that they are not inconvenienced in any way. There will be a closed toll mechanism, so that the toll of the same area has to be paid as many passengers have passed.
The government said that the construction of the expressway will take about two years. This corridor will accelerate the economic development in the area. Also, tourism in Uttarakhand will get a boost.
