Students will get a better future – Education Minister

According to School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, Punjab aims to create an education system better than anywhere else in the world. He told that this scheme has been started for the students of 11th class. In the first phase, it will be started in 31 schools of 9 districts of Punjab state Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Sangrur, Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur, Ropar and Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. Then from the next academic year, it will be implemented in the schools of the rest of the Punjab state. Harjot Singh Bains further said that I hope that this scheme will make the students of our government schools entrepreneurs. Harjot Singh also told that under this scheme, first the business proposals will be taken from the children and then those business proposals will be discussed with established industrialists. For the proposals that are good, a mixed group of 8 students will be formed. For this, each member of the group will be given Rs 2000 so that they can use this money to make their business proposal successful.

18 periods kept in a year

18 periods have been made in a year for the subject of entrepreneurship, out of which 3 will be based on theory and 15 on projects. This will not put much burden on the students, so that their studies can be made fun and effective. The aim of this initiative is to increase creativity, confidence and problem solving ability in the students. “Now, instead of waiting for opportunities, students will create them. Notably, the initiative began in November 2022 with just 32 schools and 11,041 students under the ‘Punjab Young Entrepreneurs Program’. But today it has reached 1,927 schools and about 1.8 lakh students.
