A hair-raising incident has come to light from Khairighat police station area of Bahraich district in Uttar Pradesh. A child working in the field with his aunt was attacked by a crocodile on Thursday. This incident is the third time in the last two weeks when a crocodile has attacked a human being. The body was found in the river after a two-day search operation. After the body of the child was found, it was sent for post-mortem. It is being told that Anil is the only son of his family and the family members are in a bad state crying. Due to the rise in the water level of the rivers after the rain, crocodiles are reaching the settlements. Seeing the terror of crocodiles, the forest department has advised the villagers to stay away from the reservoirs.
The crocodile dragged him into the water
According to the information, Anil was cutting grass with his aunt at the time of the incident, when the crocodile caught him and took him into the water. After this incident, there was chaos in the entire village. On receiving the news of the incident, the police reached the spot. The forest department team started the rescue operation with the help of local people, but the boy could not be traced till late night. Villagers said that for a long time the crocodile was seen swimming in the river with Anil’s neck pressed down, then it went into the depth and disappeared. The forest department official said that such dangers keep happening in this area due to crocodiles. In such a situation, people need to be alert. He has appealed to the villagers not to go into the river and not to let children go alone to the river bank so that such incidents do not happen.
An atmosphere of panic among the villagers
This area of Bharaich has also been a victim of wild animal attacks earlier. Apart from crocodiles, incidents of attacks by wolves, leopards and elephants have also been recorded here earlier. The ever-increasing crocodile attacks have spread panic among the villagers and have become a big challenge for the administration. Let us tell you that the local administration has increased vigilance in the riverside area and further strategy is also being considered so that such accidents do not happen again. It is noteworthy that on August 17, a crocodile attacked a five-year-old child in Khairighat area, but his mother saved his life by hitting it with an iron rod. Locals reported that the mother fought for nearly five minutes, shouting for help, and managed to rescue her son from the crocodile’s grip. Following this, a 45-year-old man was severely injured by a crocodile while crossing a canal in the Motipur area.
