Bollywood is reeling from the loss of Shefali Jariwala—the iconic ‘Kaanta Laga’ girl—who died at just 42, reportedly due to cardiac arrest.

Shefali was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai late at night by her husband, Parag Tyagi, and three others, but doctors declared her brought in dead. The tragic confirmation came from hospital authorities, followed by Mumbai Police sources, who revealed that her body was found at her residence in Andheri, Mumbai.

A Sudden Goodbye
In heartbreaking visuals that surfaced soon after the news broke, a grief-stricken Parag Tyagi was spotted leaving the hospital, silently battling the emotional weight of the tragedy. Parag has not made a public statement yet.

The official cause behind Shefali’s death has not been confirmed yet.

However, early medical inputs and insider sources hint at a massive heart attack. Her remains have been sent for postmortem examination at Cooper Hospital.

From Engineer Dreams to Stardom
Originally an aspiring computer engineer, Shefali shot to overnight stardom at the age of 20 with her sizzling appearance in the 2002 remix of Kaanta Laga, which made her a pop culture icon. She went on to feature in multiple music albums and projects but continued to be popularly known as the “Kaanta Laga Girl.”

In 2020, she re-entered the limelight as a contestant in Bigg Boss Season 13, where her strong personality and bold presence won her both fans and critics alike.

The first news of her passing was shared on social media by journalist Vickey Lalwani, who reported that Shefali had already passed away before being brought to the hospital. While doctors at Bellevue refrained from sharing patient details, internal sources and police later confirmed the unfortunate demise.
